Universal Orlando Height Requirements 2026 — All Parks & Rides
SaveLast updated: March 1, 2026
Universal Orlando Resort in Florida is home to three theme parks: Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and the all-new Universal Epic Universe (opened 2025). Universal parks tend to have slightly higher height requirements than Disney, reflecting their focus on cutting-edge thrill rides and screen-based attractions. That said, each park still offers plenty of options for younger guests. Here is every height requirement you need to know for a 2026 visit.
How Universal Orlando Measures Height
Universal uses measuring sticks at ride entrances, similar to Disney. Shoes may be worn, hats must be removed. Universal does not issue wristbands for borderline guests — your child will be measured at each ride individually. Team Members (Universal's equivalent of cast members) make the final call. Universal also offers a Child Swap program at most rides with height requirements, allowing adults to take turns riding without re-queuing.
Universal Studios Florida Height Requirements
Universal Studios Florida is the original Universal park, home to classic attractions like E.T. Adventure (no height requirement) and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Diagon Alley. Height requirements here range from 34 inches for gentle rides up to 51 inches for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, one of the park's signature coasters. Most major attractions fall in the 40–48 inch range.

Islands of Adventure Height Requirements
Islands of Adventure is Universal's thrill-focused park, home to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Hogsmeade and iconic rides like The Incredible Hulk Coaster and VelociCoaster. This park has higher average height requirements than Universal Studios Florida. The signature ride, VelociCoaster, requires 51 inches — one of the highest in Orlando. However, Seuss Landing offers wonderful no-requirement and low-requirement rides for the youngest guests.

Universal Epic Universe Height Requirements
Universal Epic Universe opened in 2025 as Universal Orlando's third and most ambitious park. It features five immersive worlds with state-of-the-art ride technology. The park includes a Nintendo-themed area (Super Nintendo World) and a new Wizarding World area. Height requirements range from 40 inches for Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge up to 48 inches for Stardust Racers. Yoshi's Adventure has no height requirement and is perfect for younger guests.

Universal's Express Pass works on most rides but not all (notably not Hagrid's or VelociCoaster). If your child is borderline on height, prioritize the rides they might not be able to do next year — they grow fast!
